Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I'm a wife of 30 years, mother of 3 beautiful, successful and inspiring young adults, "I Am My Sisters Keeper" group member, Certified Labor Doula, Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Specialist and Pre-Certified Infant Feeding Specialist.
What led you to become a Doula?: What led me to become interested in birth work was constantly being told by many, that I have a nurturing and serving spirit. Along with that spirit comes compassion, concern and specific care for others in need. After speaking to my family and close friends, I decided to move forward in doing what I love to do. I love to take a woman that isn't feeling well or needs support in any way, give her whatever she needs/wants to feel better, even if it's just someone to be quiet and listen.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
Positive things that some people have said about me is that I have the best hugs. That my hugs contain love, comfort and the “you got this!” security within it. I’ve been told that I’m easy to speak with, I’m a good listener and that I’m compassionate, encouraging and understanding.
