Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: As a mother of 4, grandmother of 8, and as a former foster parent to over 25 children including many traumatized infants, it just seems natural to be providing care to new families with babies. Caring for others comes naturally to me. My experience as a Family Partner walking alongside families as they navigate their child’s mental health needs provided me the practice to provide non-judgmental and unbiased support in complicated and emotionally challenging situations. Truly, supporting new families is my jam.

What led you to become a Doula?: In 1994, while working in billing alongside midwives at a local birth center, I discovered my love for birth work. In 2017, I decided it was time to rediscover this passion and my journey as a Postpartum Doula began. I have always loved being a support person during transitional life events: birth, postpartum, family changes, as well as, death. The postpartum period is so vulnerable and, as a nurturer, providing support during this transitional time seemed like the perfect fit.
