Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Laura has a BA in Early Childhood Education from birth to 5th grade. She is a trained Labor Doula with Prodoula. She was a nanny for 7 years before staying home with her own two boys. Currently, Laura is working with families to reduce fear and provide support during a major life event: Childbirth. Her passion for caring for others began in elementary school when her school principal nicknamed her “mommy.” Now as a real-life mom, Laura continues to support other moms and new families to navigate through the new experiences and challenges that pregnancy and parenthood may bring. Laura loves to cook and bake and even runs a small custom cookie business: Sugar Cupid, LLC. She also likes to read and travel with her family and friends.
What led you to become a Doula?: I have always been passionate about working closely with families and young children, which led me to a degree in Early Childhood during my undergrad program. The births of my own children ignited the flame to pursue birth work. Now as a mom of two, I feel mentally, emotionally, and physically prepared to help families on their journey toward and beyond childbirth.
