Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have lots of experience working with kids and families, through camps, babysitting, nannying and directing kids programs over the years. I have a background of education in nursing, which gave me foundational knowledge and practical experience working with new moms, babies and families. I thrive when I'm able to provide support to others.

What led you to become a Doula?: I have always been fascinated with pregnancy, birth, babies, and kids. From a young age, I enjoyed helping to support and comfort others. A dear older loved one of mine used to call me her "little nursemaid" when I was with her - I was always by her side lending a hand. I pursued an education in nursing and upon completion of my degree ultimately decided not to continue on in the profession. My only regret was the lost opportunity to interact with pregnant women, new mothers, babies, and their families. Enter doula work! I discovered that there was a way for me to continue supporting families in this beautiful life stage in a non-clinical role. I am honoured to be welcomed into the intimate space of birth and the postpartum period!

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

Others have said that I am empathetic, compassionate and caring. They say I go above and beyond and that I have a way of making the people around me feel loved, welcomed and comfortable. I am passionate about serving others and anticipating their needs. People have also said that I am trustworthy, faithful and loyal.
