Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am passionate about supporting the type of birth that my client desires. I lean upon my experiences with my own births as well as those of the women I have supported in the past; however, every birth is unique and I enter each meeting and birth with open eyes and an open heart allowing the experience to flow. I am there to support and encouragement based on the desires of my client; like a fly on the wall that's really good at hip squeezes! Shortly after starting my business I was Saved and became a Christian. I have leaned strongly on my faith throughout the pandemic and as I build and grow my doula business. I feel that the Lord has called me to this work and encouraged me along the way. While I do not push my faith and beliefs onto my clients, I do provide prayer to any client who desires it before, during, and after birth.

What led you to become a Doula?: I had two very different birth experiences with the first being a medicated hospital birth where I felt one or two contractions! My second was a totally unmedicated home birth that lasted about 5 hours in total. I had a doula for my second birth and gained some knowledge of the role of a doula within the birth space. My passion for doula work began with the birth of my second child and eventually came to the surface within me while providing support to my sister in law for the birth of her second child (first unmedicated). This experience sparked a curiosity and passion that has been growing ever since. I completed my training and certification as a labor doula and immediately jumped feet first into the world of being a birth worker.
