Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: My background is in cultural anthropology - studying just how different motherhood looks in various cultures. Through my studies and work with women and mothers throughout the world, I have learned that there is no one-size-fits-all way to birth or mother.
What led you to become a Doula?: When I realized the connection between women's birth experiences and the way that they are able to bond with their little ones, I saw the big picture. I saw the violence and injustice in the world that could be stopped in its tracks if only we had more women feeling powerful in their bodies and more babes borne with all the available oxytocin, love, and support that the world has to offer. I am here to be a part of that change.
