Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am the mom to 14 kids; 9 by birth and 5 through adoption. I have given birth at a birth center, home, and hospital. I have been a birth photographer since 2010 and have built relationships with our local birth community.
What led you to become a Doula?: I have been a birth photographer since 2010. Over the years, as I have developed my craft, I have come to love and respect birth and birthing women, more than ever. I have seen a trend lately in birth photographers become certified doulas. This is something I will never do, as I feel birth photography and doula work require 100% attention. As I have grown my business and website, I have become a source of birth information to local moms. I have decided to become a certified childbirth educator so I have the most up-to-date knowledge and can further educate my clients.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
We had Renee photograph the birth of our baby. I chose her because I knew she would not be distracting to me in labor and be professional in the hospital setting. Plus her photos are GORGEOUS. Well she lived up to her reputation and I am so thankful to have such beautiful memories captured forever. I get teary looking at the pictures and can’t recommend her enough!
