Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Personal experience and/or education is very helpful as doulas. The more you know, the better you will be able to provide support. I have much experience taking care of babies and children. I have 9 younger siblings and have always loved helping my mom and dad out with our newest addition! I also have experience working in childcare (ages 0-3) and have had much experience as a babysitter. I think it is crucial for us as doulas to provide nonjudgmental support to moms and their spouses before, during, and after birth. I am now a Certified ProDoula Birth doula, pre-certified as a ProDoula Postpartum and Infant Care doula, and am still continuing to further my education in this field.
What led you to become a Doula?: Growing up with many siblings and always wanting to help my mom with whatever she or the baby needed, I knew I wanted a future that involved babies and children in general. When I learned what a doula does my mindset shifted to then what can I do for not only birthing moms, but also for moms and their spouses after birth? So I did a Prodoula Birth Cross-Certification and then took the Postpartum and Infant Care training and finished Certification. I realize now just how important it is to continue to help the mom not only in child birth, but also during her postpartum journey. Birth is so beautiful and unique with postpartum bonding being even sweeter!

I am sweet, kind, supportive, and positive? I am a hard worker and have a passion to serve people!
