Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: - I am the second oldest of 15 grandkids on one side. I was always the one asking to hold or feed the baby, or why the baby was acting a certain way. - I spent a few years working in publicity. Which helped me appreciate there are two sides to every story and multiple ways to present facts, depending upon the audience. (practical) - In addition to doula work, I have been managing a surf shop for more than nine years. There are often times when people come into the shop and do not know the first thing about surfing. And I assure them that’s ok! There’s plenty more to the shop than just surfboards. But if they have in interest in surfing, no matter what height, weight, sex, race and etc., we accept them, we educate them, and we make sure they leave with a positive experience. (non-judgmental support)

What led you to become a Doula?: Looking back I could argue my doula journey started many-many years ago. But it wasn’t until my best friend had a baby in 2016 that I was introduced to the profession, and how impactful a doula can be on the lives of Mothers, babies, and their families.
