Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am a certified professional doula serving growing families in the Chicago, Illinois area. Additionally I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy working Per Diem in the rehabilitation units at Rush University Medical Center and Northshore Evanston Hospital where I assist patients in regaining their highest level of functional independence for safe discharges from the hospital. These two callings go hand in hand in providing the utmost patient and client-centered support.

What led you to become a Doula?: Plain and simple, I am my best self when I help and support others. My call to serve others as well as my interests in health and the human body were what initially drew me to physical therapy. Additionally, through my years as a rehabilitation physical therapist, I have grown in tune with my genuine supportive heart as I encourage, advocate, and challenge my patients through their recovery. It wasn't until experiencing my own birthing adventures that I realized how especially beautiful birth is in regards to the human body and also how beneficial a strong supportive team can be. This combination of serving others and the fascinating abilities of the human body ultimately captivated me towards supporting families in birth work.
