Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am a wife and mother of five! My life is literally dedicated to caring for others. I have a background in healthcare, I am also a board certified nuclear medicine technologist. Being a doula is my passion and it completes me. Patient care is not something that is new to me, this is right up my alley. All of my deliveries thus far have been natural and drug free. I have delivered my children in the hospital and at home. The difference in those deliveries are night and day, needless to say that my homebirth was almost pain free. And I truly believe that is due to the fact that I was in the comfort of my own home and I wasn't being pressured to accept unnecessary medical intervention. Whether you decide to have a hospital or homebirth, drug or drug free, I would like to help guide you through this process and help make it as stress free as possible. I am your advocate and my experience in healthcare and as a mother of five keep me well equipped with the knowledge, experience, and empathy required to help you give birth with ease!
What led you to become a Doula?: I am absolutely obsessed with everything involving the creation of life! Giving birth is divine and mothers should have the best possible birthing experience. The media has shown us that giving birth is traumatic and it is almost never portrayed in a positive light. This actually then causes some women to give up before they even try and that it something that I would like to change, one mama at a time. I know that being your doula would allow me the opportunity to help ease your mind and support you both physically and emotionally. And I get to be there when we bring your beautiful bundle of joy into this world, and that is the most rewarding part of it all!
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
My peers, friends and family were not in the least bit surprised when they learned about my interest in becoming a doula. They know that I am experienced with child birth and they are inspired by my birthing experiences. People who know me would tell you that I am extremely compassionate, caring, and committed. My patients tell me that I am professional and kind. This is my calling!
