Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have a Masters of Science in Organizational Psychology in which I learned about business and human behavior. In my undergrad degree I learned about Psychology overall. I have the ability to support clients through my experience by knowing how the brain system works and how we can manage stress during pressure. As a birth professional I have learned to guide birthing Mothers through listening to her cues and support her in the way she commands. I can also be assertive in times when the birth partner may be unaware on how to support their spouse. Being a labor doula means being supportive through the process of birth this may look like offering resources, guidance, emotional support, physical support, and most importantly mental support.

What led you to become a Doula?: I have grown a passion in being a birth professional through my own experiences I have had good experiences with providers and not so good experiences. I believe I can make a positive impact in the birth professional community by helping mothers who are unaware of their options and the right to birth. I believe I can empower women through birth by supporting them through their own preferences and ensuring it leads to a positive memory.
