Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have spent 7 years as a professional nanny, as well as have two children of my own, and have supported many friends throughout the years with their growing families.

What led you to become a Doula?: I love to help and care for people, and I saw this as a way that I can support other women and families through those first weeks of coming home with a newborn. I remember feeling overwhelmed and needing extra support myself when I was in that similar situation, and becoming a Postpartum & Infant Care Doula allows me to be the support person for others as they build their confidence and come into their own understanding of meeting their infants needs, as well as their own. It’s important to me that each woman feels supported and each family member is equipped, as this will lessen stress & tension, allowing more room for love, rest, and strength in the family unit.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

Often I am told that I am helpful, considerate, thoughtful, and caring of others. People appreciate that I am timely, organized, and supportive, as well as a good listener. I’ve received many compliments about my sons (ages 3 & 5), and how well I am doing as a mother, but to be honest, it’s a journey and I’m far from perfect. We all do the best with what we know in the time, and as we learn we continue to adapt and grow.
