What led you to become a Doula?: I’ve felt a calling to be a birth and postpartum doula as a way to connect with generations of women before me. Birth is one of the most vulnerable experiences a woman will ever have. I am honored to be allowed into the inner circle while holding each mother as she is born and gives birth to new life. I believe that birth is a normal physiological process. It does not need to be a medical event, and is rarely an emergency. Our society has forgotten how to best educate and support families in this exciting time. Birth is meant to be intimate, but our current care system doesn’t treat it that way. My goal is to make you feel empowered in the process. I want you to feel confident in your abilities and whatever choices you make surrounding birth.
