Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am a mother of 3 beautiful adult children, 1 which has made me a grandmother of 2 amazing grandchildren! I assisted my sister with 2 of her deliveries, one in 1995 and the other 2001 which became my godchildren. My most recent assist, in 2018 was with my oldest child bringing into the world my first granddaughter! Each of these experiences I hold dear to my heart. They left me wanting to help more. But at those times - I had a full-time job, so being able to work in that field - was just a nice dream.

What led you to become a Doula?: My last experience- witnessing the birth of my granddaughter, the OB asked if I was a doula - at the time - I didn't know what she was talking about. She said to me, "...a doula is exactly what you are doing - being there to support this young lady without judgement and using soft encouraging words." I really liked that someone could make a living for just doing what comes naturally to me.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

People have said that I light up the room when I walk in. I have also been told that I am easy to talk to. People have said that they feel like they have known me for longer than they really have. I am friendly and genuine.
