Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: With a background in sexual assault advocacy and trauma, I know how to educate and empower clients through the joys and sorrows of a life-changing experience -- no matter what they've been through or are going through! I'm currently working toward my 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification. Having physical strength, emotional resilience, and an equanimous mind during labor and the postpartum period is a game changer; my role as a doula is to help my clients see that they already possess these characteristics and just need guidance on accessing them during crucial moments. In my spare time, I volunteer as a CASA Guardian ad Litem and advocate for children involved in child abuse and neglect cases in the courts. With all that being said, don't think I neglect fun! As a long time career bartender and video game streamer on Twitch, I help my clients relax and have fun through these transitional life moments!
What led you to become a Doula?: Even with eight nieces and nephews and my own pregnancy losses, I still felt immensely bewildered on my own journey through childbirth and into parenthood. In becoming a doula, I've not only found my own voice and footing on this path, but now I get to support other parents-to-be in finding their voice and footing as well. With Education and Experience comes Empowerment!
