Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Hi! I am a mother of 3 amazing kiddos. I have 4 wonderful grand kiddos and one on the way! I have a passion, and calling for, supporting women on their journey to becoming a mother. Either for the first time or the fifth. People close to me would say that I am gifted in allowing a woman to feel seen, understood and championed. I love encouraging and challenging women to discover more of who they are during the process.

What led you to become a Doula?: Prior to becoming a doula I offered support to my daughter in law while having my grand daughter, I came to the understanding that women do not have the support that they need during this season of life. I have felt for years that women have been conditioned to " carry it all alone, do it all by yourself". This has caused me great concern for us ladies. We are created for community and we need it. After coming along side my daughter in law and son throughout their pregnancy; encouraging, supporting, watching, listening and learning, I discovered that I have a lot to offer other women. I want every woman to have a better understanding of the process of labor and delivery. I want to help them feel empowered to stand by their desires and convictions. I want to help parents learn how to care for their child in a way that they feel empowered and successful rather than discouraged and overwhelmed.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

Others have said that I am genuine and encouraging. I have been told that I have the ability to “feel your story and offer strength and optimism”. My daughter in law tells me that I am very calm, strong and I always smell of essential oils.
