Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: My background in special education and non-profit work providing direct care to families, and the skills and gifts developed from those experiences, have allowed me to confidently step into supporting families as a labor doula. My call is to equip and empower families to make decisions, support them physically and emotionally, instill confidence in who they are and how capable they are, and provide them with resources. Parenthood isn’t a journey to be taken alone, and it’s my honor to walk with families through the most amazing, wild, beautiful beginnings of bringing a baby to the world.
What led you to become a Doula?: Entering into parenthood and stepping into the Wild West of all things pregnancy, babies, birth, and parenting can be overwhelming. I wasn’t sure what a doula even was until after my first daughter was born, and I thought to myself, I could have had THAT kind of support?! Soon after, I suddenly found myself deep in the world of birth support, and realized that I want to provide that for other families.
