Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I provides care that can sometimes feel like the missing link. I am equipped to make the transition into parenthood as smooth as possible by providing personal care, up to date reliable information, companionship, and trained services. Many parents find it difficult to establish a new balance during the beginning stages which is why I am is dedicated to holding space for all mothers who may need a shoulder to lean on through the roughest hours, a voice of assurance when the chaos seems unending and a safe set of hands to hold your baby when the ones you have just need a break for a little while. Creating a nonjudgmental comfort zone where you can feel safe to birth as you desire is my initial objective.
What led you to become a Doula?: Seeing the unspoken need for emotional and physical support during and after pregnancy in the community led me to become a Doula. I wanted to hold space for women during labor, delivery and the forth trimester postpartum period.
