Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: In my work as a birth professional, I take an evidence-based, movement-oriented, and empowering approach to support families during pregnancy and childbirth. I have been practicing as a birth doula since 2020 and teaching childbirth education since 2018. As an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor and a Spinning Babies® Parent Educator, I integrate the latest research and hands-on techniques to help families navigate their birthing journey with confidence. Additionally, I am trained in the Body Ready Method®, which allows me to guide clients in optimal movement and positioning for a more comfortable and efficient labor and postpartum. I have supported over 100 families during childbirth and hundreds more through comprehensive childbirth education. I have also mentored many doulas through my doula agency. This diverse experience has not only honed my skills but has also deepened my understanding of how to best support expecting parents. By mentoring fellow doulas and engaging with a wide variety of families, I've gained invaluable insights that enrich my practice. My goal is to provide each family with personalized, compassionate care, ensuring they feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout their birthing journey.
What led you to become a Doula?: My journey into becoming a birth professional was deeply personal. It began with the birth of my first daughter, an experience that not only transformed my life but also sparked a profound interest in the maternal healthcare system. This pivotal moment led me to question and explore how we support women and families during such a crucial time. Birth has always been a significant part of my life, influenced by my mother’s longstanding involvement in birth work. Her dedication and passion for this field inspired me from a young age. As a second generation Doula, these experiences fueled my desire to empower other families through their own birth journeys, ultimately guiding me to pursue a career as a birth professional.
