Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Mama of 3! Two hospital births, One home birth. I’m a trained medical professional, I’m a community liaison in my community, I am a member of several maternal/child coalitions.
What led you to become a Doula?: My passion for asserting birth rights and indigenous rituals as it relates to my culture, protecting and supporting the Wombman before, during, and after childbirth, and creating a wrap-round service based of off what I wish I had when I was pregnant so that other Wombman, my daughters and their daughter can birth better and healthier, voiding or limiting birthing traumas.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
My ability to connect the dots and problem solve. I am extremely resourceful and if I do not have the answer I have no problem activating the Sankofa principle, I.e., going back to fetch what is required.
