Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: As a seasoned nanny, I've become familiar with attuning to the unique needs and communication styles of the families I'm serving. Being sensitive to others in this capacity lends itself well to birth work.

What led you to become a Doula?: My own desire to have children led to a burning curiosity about pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I fed this curiosity by reading about the physiological process of birth, watching birth videos, and listening to podcasts about all things birth. Throughout this process my eyes were opened to the amazing benefits families received from hiring a doula. I feel called to use my passion to serve families as they navigate this transitional period.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

I’ll never forget one of the last family dinners I had with my nanny family before I moved back to Arizona to become a doula. We went out to eat as the whole crew; mom, dad, me, 4 y/o boy, 3 y/o boy, and 7 mo baby boy. I was soaking up every bit of giggles and snuggles with those sweet boys when the mom said, “I’m going to miss how well you fit in here.” She continued to say how much easier things were when I was around and that my presence would be missed in the family. I’m forever grateful for the unconditional love they showed me by welcoming me into the family.
