Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I began my career as nurse and working for a length of time in the Neonatal ICU and then in pediatrics. I am grateful for all I have learned as a nurse. The time and experience of working closely with families, brought me to where I am today. I found the world of birth work to support my love for women's health, spreading knowledge and working with children and families to come together perfectly.

What led you to become a Doula?: I friend of mine had a doula and told me of her experience. I felt I was at a crossroads within my career and was looking to see how I could make a difference in other ways than the doctors office I was currently in. In considering a degree in women's health nurse practitioner, I looked into what doula work consisted of. I fell in love with the individualized care and sharing of information. I loved the aspect of informing families and ensuring they knew their options so they could make informed care choices for themselves and their families. Birth work feel right to me and I enjoy connecting with women and new parents in this time of transformation.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
