Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Before my entry into the world of birth support, I was a nutritionist who taught nutrition education to families and preschool age children. It was there that I first learned how support combined with education and empowerment can benefit the health and wellness of children as well as families as a whole. I bring that same mindset to my career as a doula with a birth philosophy rooted in the knowledge that each and every client deserves non-judgmental, undivided attention and care as well as unwavering support as they approach their birth, work through it and take steps into parenthood with their new family.

What led you to become a Doula?: I started my journey towards becoming a doula after my own first hand experience working with trained, knowledgeable, calm and confident birth support and how that support made all the difference with my first two births. Without the empowering force of my support team, my births would have been radically different. Having previous experience working in nutrition education with families, I turned my efforts towards increasing my knowledge of birth, childbirth education options and the best ways to support families through multiple in-person trainings including training with ProDoula. I wanted to provide the same support and experience to clients that I had been given and strive to do that with each and every birth client I have the privilege of supporting as a doula.
