Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have worked in the healthcare field since I was 18. As a CNA, in-home caregiver, nanny, and Medical Laboratory Scientist, I have always been drawn to helping others. I have given birth to three beautiful babies and have experienced the difference that having a doula makes. I believe my training through ProDoula has equipped me to support a wide range of clients from early pregnancy through the postpartum period.
What led you to become a Doula?: My fascination with pregnancy and birth began when I was working in the lab at a fertility clinic. I became completely immersed in the world of IVF treatments and the trying-to-conceive process. After having my own child, I felt called to help others grow their families so I became a gestational surrogate. I have had three very different birthing experiences. During my most recent pregnancy, I really focused on educating myself as much as possible and really took control of my birthing space. Now, I feel passionate about supporting other people in finding power and autonomy in birth and in parenthood.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
I have been told that I have a bright but calming presence. I am detail oriented and love data so I’m great at providing resources and guidance. I also give great hugs!
