Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: As a postpartum professional, having a background as a mother of two boys and experience as a home visitor in a child development program brings invaluable insight and empathy to my work. Being a mom has given me firsthand understanding of the emotional, physical, and mental journey of pregnancy, birth, and parenting, allowing me to connect deeply with parents navigating this life-changing experience. My role as a home visitor has further enriched my perspective, as I’ve supported families through the early stages of their children’s lives, helping them foster development and bonding in a home environment. This work has strengthened my ability to offer practical guidance and emotional support tailored to each family's unique needs and circumstances. Altogether, these experiences allow me to serve parents with a compassionate, holistic approach, supporting them not just after birth, but in the foundational journey of parenting.

What led you to become a Doula?: My interest in becoming a postpartum and infant care professional grew naturally from my personal and professional experiences. As a mom of two, I experienced firsthand the challenges and joys that come with welcoming a new baby, along with the unique needs parents face during the postpartum period. These experiences deepened my appreciation for the support that families need as they adjust to life with a newborn. Additionally, my role as a home visitor in a child development program allowed me to witness the powerful impact that early support and guidance can have on families. I saw how much reassurance and practical help meant to parents, and I was inspired by the difference it made in their confidence and well-being. This combination of personal understanding and professional exposure led me to realize that I wanted to specialize in postpartum and infant care, so I could provide the nurturing, informed support that every new family deserves during this critical transition.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

People often describe me as compassionate and empathetic, someone who genuinely cares about the families I work with. I take pride in knowing that my kindness and empathy help parents feel truly seen, understood, and supported during such an important time in their lives.

I’ve also been told that my knowledge and resourcefulness make a difference for families. With my background in child development and postpartum care, I enjoy offering practical solutions and sharing insights that people find genuinely helpful.

One of the most meaningful compliments I receive is that my presence brings calm and reassurance. I aim to create a steady, supportive environment where parents feel at ease, even when things feel overwhelming.

People often note my patience and understanding, saying that they feel comfortable expressing their fears and concerns with me without judgment. I strive to be someone they can count on, someone who goes above and beyond to support them and help them feel confident in their parenting.

Hearing that I help empower parents is especially rewarding. I’m grateful to play a role in encouraging them to trust themselves and embrace the incredible journey of parenting.
