Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: As a ProDoula certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, and a ProDoula certified Labor Doula with quality experience under her belt, Caroline recognized a distinct void in the birthing support system of her small rural North Carolina community. She yearned to create a space where pregnant people and new parents could find both a sympathetic ear and a steadfast advocate. The Swearing Doula was born 5 years after her own birthing experience. Her service model embodies Caroline's unwavering commitment to authenticity, heart for justice in client advocacy and clear values as an ally to all parents.

What led you to become a Doula?: Truthfully I never felt good enough at anything until I became a mom. When my daughter was born, I was a single mom determined to make a way. I was gifted Postpartum Doula care & knew even then that it was such an important service, but also unknown & undervalued. After years of dedicating myself to her care, I started working as an infant nanny when my daughter was 5 years old. During that time I had a life altering personal experience that led me to start over. With bravery and passion, I decided to finally enroll in my first Labor Doula training with ProDoula. After my second training, I was inspired to authentically create my own birth service business My childbirth experience was hard as hell. I always felt empowered by having this intense labor & delivery, but after my ProDoula training I realized there were so many things that could have been different. I became a doula because I want birthing people to know their options. I want people to feel supported enough to speak up and feel “heard” during labor and birth.
