Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: My greatest beneficial experience is being a mother of four. I had three very different laboring/birthing experiences with two singleton and one multiple birth. I also have had the honor and pleasure of being active support in several labors.

What led you to become a Doula?: When I was fifteen I experienced my youngest brother's birth. I remember a lot of my family members being present that day. My mother told me the story of my labor and birth. She also reminded me of her laboring plan for my brother and how no matter what it was to be followed. Then I watched the plan quickly unravel as my brother's heart rate dropped. To see one of the strongest women I know become so helpless in that moment made me want to do everything in my power to support her. So I kept telling her how proud I was of her, how amazing, strong and powerful she was. That she was more than capable and sufficient to complete the task at hand. My brother was the newest part of our family! That very day I knew I wanted to be in the birthing field and have been passionate about babies ever since.

People love how they can just be transparent around me with no fear of judgement
People also appreciate that I go the extra mile for whoever is in need
