Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: In addition to attending Doula training at Bastyr University near Seattle, I regularly attend continuing education classes and workshops and stay up-to-date on topics that pertain to birth, infant care, the postpartum period, and infant feeding. I feel grateful to have created a successful doula business that has been serving families in the Walla Walla Valley since 2014.
What led you to become a Doula?: I have always been in awe of our ability to create and birth, and am forever amazed by the changes that occur in our bodies, minds, and souls when we become parents. Like many of us birth workers, the birth of my daughter layered on a new level of fascination and understanding when it comes to the process of education and the process of becoming a parent. It is one of my greatest life joys to be a part of this journey with other families.
