Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: During my own pregnancy, I was horrified by the statistics and Black maternal mortality rates and I’ve wanted to be a part of the solution. I am passionate about helping birthing parents and their partners to know their options and to advocate for themselves.
What led you to become a Doula?: I had been an unofficial doula before I knew the word! Years before my own pregnancy, a former neighbor was very pregnant and alone due to a domestic violence situation. I read a lot so I could understand her pregnancy and have something to talk to her about on our walks! Well all of my questions and checking up on her made me the person she called when labor started, and before I knew it I was giving massages, and reminding her not to hyperventilate! The experience felt supernatural, I kept thinking “We can do that?!” and I couldn’t wait to be a part of another Birthday!

I’m patient and hardworking, an excellent listener, genuine and honest. If you’re an astrology nerd like me, you’d recognize that I’m a textbook Taurus.
