What led you to become a Doula?: Although I attended my first birth as the primary support person at just 16, I have seen myself grow exponentially in the past 16 years. I was on the fast track to get my Associates in Nursing. It was going to be swiftly followed by my BSN. The final step was to place a big red bow on everything with my specialty in Midwifery. It wasn’t until I was talking to a friend about supporting her in her unmedicated hospital birth that I thought about actually certifying. She asked why I’d never gotten around to making a career out of the thing I love so much. Confused, I looked at her and said ‘ I am. I’m going to catch babies.’ She looked at me and said ‘Why would you want to catch the babies when your favorite part is helping the people having those babies?’ Something clicked within me. I dropped out of nursing school, started pursing my degree in psychology and women’s studies, took my doula certification training and began living my official doula dream.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
At the end of the day, the only thing you need to know is your birth is as important to Collin as it is to you.
– Katie C
Collin is truly amazing. She was an advocate and coach throughout my pregnancy and unmedicated birth. Partner with her immediately! You will not regret it.
– Sloan K
She is one of those people who makes you feel immediately at ease and like you’ve known her for years.
– Kelsey D
She was also knowledgeable and action oriented with challenges I came to her with. My partner and I loved working with her. We would absolutely recommend Collin as a birth doula, worth every dollar you would spend!!!
