Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: As a birth professional, I bring a valuable background and extensive experience in postpartum care to offer comprehensive support to new parents. With a prior career as a teacher and private nanny, I made the transition to become a Doula and Newborn Care Specialist, which has afforded me in-depth knowledge and understanding of the physical and emotional needs of postpartum families and their newborns. I am adept at providing guidance and assistance with various aspects such as breastfeeding, bottle feeding, establishing newborn care routines, soothing techniques, and aiding in postpartum recovery. Moreover, my cultural background, rooted in Brazil, has significantly influenced my approach to postpartum care. In Brazil, there is a strong emphasis on family support networks, acknowledging the vital role they play, and it places great importance on self-care for new mothers. Recognizing the significance of creating a nurturing and supportive environment for families, I strive to ensure they have ample time, rest, and resources necessary for recovery and bonding with their newborns.
What led you to become a Doula?: After years of working as a teacher and in private care, I found my true calling in supporting new parents and their precious babies. I firmly believe that every family deserves comprehensive and compassionate support tailored to their specific needs and parenting styles. Whether it's a first-time parent or those who have multiple children, my main focus is on providing them the emotional and physical support they need to feel confident and empowered.
