Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I grew up the oldest of five siblings. I knew I loved children and caring for them at a young age. I babysat for years until after high school when I became a full time nanny. I have supported so many families and have loved getting to care for their babies! I have been a full time nanny for almost 5 years.
What led you to become a Doula?: My mom had my youngest sister when I was 15. It was a home birth and I was able to be present and experience such a special event. My mom was in midwifery school at the time and had a fantastic midwife and doulas. I remember being so captivated by one of her doulas in particular, watching her navigate the energy of the room and keeping so calm throughout every phase. That was the turning point for me. I knew I wanted to be in the birth space and provide the same support for birthing people and their families!
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
The families I’ve worked with have described me as punctual, supportive, loving and present. The bonds I share with all the families I work with are so important and special to me.
