Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: My experience working in education and autism behavioral therapy has uniquely prepared me for the role of a doula in countless ways. The skills and insights I have gained from these professions have provided me with a strong foundation in empathy, active listening, and effective communication, which are all essential qualities for a doula. Furthermore, my background has honed my ability to adapt to diverse needs and circumstances, allowing me to support expectant parents with a wide range of preferences and concerns. Additionally, my experience has instilled in me a deep sense of patience, resilience, and compassion, which are invaluable attributes when assisting individuals through the transformative journey of childbirth. I believe that my background in education and autism behavioral therapy equips me to provide holistic and personalized support to birthing families, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their childbirth experience.

What led you to become a Doula?: My own traumatic birth experience, coupled with a lack of support during that challenging time, ignited a profound passion within me to become a birth doula. Having endured such a distressing ordeal, I understand firsthand the emotional and physical toll it can take on birthing individuals and their families. This personal journey has inspired me to dedicate myself to ensuring that no one else has to endure childbirth without the guidance and support they deserve. My desire to become a doula is fueled by the deep-seated commitment to educate and inform expectant parents, equipping them with knowledge and confidence as they embark on their own unique childbirth journeys. I want to be that unwavering advocate and source of comfort for birthing people, guiding them through the process with empathy, compassion, and a commitment to empowering their choices. My own experience has driven me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others during one of the most transformative moments they will ever experience.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

I’ve been fortunate to receive numerous positive comments from people in my life that truly highlight my character and personality. Many have mentioned that I’m always willing to help, going above and beyond to support them in their times of need. Others have described me as understanding, empathetic, and kind, noting my ability to truly connect with others on an emotional level. I’ve been told that I have a great sense of humor and that my funny, lighthearted approach to life brings joy to those around me. Lastly, the recurring theme in these comments is my passion – people often remark that I am passionately dedicated to everything I do, whether it’s in my work, relationships, or pursuing my interests. These kind words reinforce my commitment to being a positive force in the lives of those around me.
