Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am a massage therapist and Certified Educator of Infant Massage, so I bring the valuable resource of touch to my birth work. I know how powerful and healing having touch can be, and believe that my clients benefit from my anatomical training background. Furthermore, I love networking with other like minded professionals to help create a community for both clients and doulas, however that looks.
What led you to become a Doula?: I have worked with individuals looking to improve their health through massage therapy since 2011, and found that very fulfilling, but was missing something. After the birth of my son, I realized the need for strong, professional women in the birth community. I love working directly with individuals and families to see the lasting, positive impact having a truly unbiased support system can have on them. I strongly believe each person deserves that unconditional support during all stages of his or her life, and my birth work coupled with my massage therapy has allowed me to pursue that passion.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
My clients have said that I am professional, compassionate, and hardworking. I am able to work hard for both the client and partner, while bring a sense of humor and compassion that is necessary in this field. My friends and family also echo my sense of humor and love for people and animals.
