Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I’m a wife, mother to three and a passionate advocate for women! While I believe giving birth to three children has equipped me with more knowledge about this area of life; my biggest take away has been realizing how different each pregnancy, birth and the needs of mothers are. I’m obsessed with researching anything I’m walking through, so when going through my own pregnancies and births I immersed myself into it. I feel this has made me a wealth of knowledge for my clients and I am always ready to learn the next new thing! Participating in the ProDoula training was interactive and engaging and has equipped me with everything I need to be by your side.
What led you to become a Doula?: Mind, body and soul; pregnancy and birth is a transformative experience. It’s an experience that shapes you and your partner into parents! This journey can be smooth sailing and it can have some storms but I think support and community are a necessity during this stage of life and that is what has led me to become a doula.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
When I told my friends that I wanted to look into becoming a doula they were all so excited; one even said, if I had to think of someone to be a doula, it would be you, this job is perfect for you! Everyone else agreed, they’ve often commented on my ability to listen deeply and going the extra mile to help someone when they need it or even when they say they don’t!
