Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work:
What led you to become a Doula?: I became a doula because of a deep calling to this work. I have a passion for birth and for serving people as they walk through one of the most important and memorable experiences of their lives. The desire to work with birthing families has been on my heart since I was a very young girl. After having four children of my own, two with a doula, I finally felt God was calling me into this new season of life. I believe birth to be a sacred and deeply personal experience, and it’s an honor and privilege to stand alongside families as they bring life into this world. I am a firm believer that clients should be in control of their pregnancy, and that their birth preferences should be respected and maintained as long as it’s safe to do so. I will be there to stand alongside you in whatever decisions you make.

“I highly recommend Katie as a doula. She was the best birth professional I’ve ever encountered. I cannot imagine my labor/delivery or pregnancy without her. She is unbelievably kind and present with you every time you interact with her whether it’s on the phone, in a prenatal meeting or during labor, she gives you her full attention and support. She is willing to be as involved as you want. Katie is an incredible listener, very empathetic, and offers great advice and resources. Her communication is perfect, I never worried about getting in touch with her because she was so responsive and was also proactive in reaching out to me. She helped me through my labor tremendously through counter pressure, affirmations, essential oils, prayer, and doing anything to keep me focused and comfortable. She helped me with my birth plan and even created the document herself to save me time. Postpartum she continues to support me so well.
