Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I worked as an RN on the maternity floor for about 10 years, mainly working as a Postpartum and Nursery Nurse. I have had 3 kids of my own and did two surrogacy journeys, one of them being twins. I took care of the surrogacy babies for about 3 months after they were born, as well as taking care of my own children.
What led you to become a Doula?: Even before Nursing school I knew I wanted to work with babies. After years of doing that, I wanted to shift gears a bit, open up my own business, and work with babies and their families inside of their own homes after they are born. The transition home can be very stressful and there is a great need for help during this time.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
People have commented that this type of work is a perfect fit for me. I have helped out family and friends after their babies were born and they have greatly appreciated my help and knowledge.
