What led you to become a Doula?: I came to be a birth doula after having spent time working with the elderly and being present through many deaths. I wanted to see what life was like at the other gateway. I deeply believe that access to support and choices around the childbearing years is crucial to the way we birth our feelings about ourselves as women, as well as our relationship to our children and environment.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
Lauren has been such a wonderful support to us during our pregnancy and through postpartum with our daughter. She is a warm soul and really extended her heart to us during the many ups and downs of bringing our first child into the world.
Lauren’s background in herbalism came in handy many times during our time together- She is always ready with a remedy to recommend to address and physical or emotional challenges that came up. She made us some wonderful teas for pregnancy support and lactation that really made a difference. My milk supply was low and it quickly increased after a magic jar of herbs from Lauren.
I really appreciated the way Lauren checked in with me regularly during my pregnancy. She really held me and saw me through some rough spots along the way. I can’t express enough the authenticity of the support and love she offers her clients. As a mama of three, she knows what you’re going through!
We especially enjoyed having her cook us delicious, nourishing meals after the birth. It was such a treat to lie in bed and be taken care of as a family after such an intense ride. Anyone seeking a compassionate and supportive partner in birth would be very lucky to have Lauren at their side.
