Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am a doula, author of "Awaken Through Birth: From Fear to Power Through Evidence and Intuition", researcher, biologist, runner, animal lover, spiritual seeker, meditator, and lifelong learner. I became certified as a doula through ProDoula after years of learning about birth and exploring a potential career in midwifery (still a dream!). I love getting to know my clients in ways that allow them to go deep into processing fears and uncovering their power as they prepare for a birth that transforms.
What led you to become a Doula?: I am a wife and mother to three incredible humans. After finding myself moving through the world differently after experiencing the transformative power of pregnancy, birth, and parenting, I couldn't help but reflect on how my experience was unique among most of my friends and family. Many women I knew had not been supported and empowered—and so they experienced pregnancy, birth, and even parenting as experiences to be endured rather than savored. And so, I decided to pursue what I feel is one of my life's purposes: To educate, guide, and empower women as they navigate these transitions. You see, I believe that the journey we take from conception through to birth and beyond is a gift. I believe this time can be used to uncover previously suppressed power. But we have to be present in the moment to experience that growth. I want to help you to be present.
