Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have a background in communication and data, which has really helped me to find studies and data and transform it into easily digestible chunks of information for new and expecting parents. I also have been helping families with young children since I was a child myself, so I have plenty of first-hand knowledge around caring for both babies and parents.
What led you to become a Doula?: When my friends started having babies, I realized how little up-to-date support there was for them - so often they were relying on information that was passed down from someone who gave birth 20+ years ago and has only been modified slightly to look more like birth options and knowledge today. I really wanted to provide a way to learn newer information and help to merge some of that wonderful knowledge from the past with today's practices.

I’m often told that I’m friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable, a great listener, and add an air of calm collectedness to any situation.
