Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I worked as a Medical Assistant in the fields of Pediatrics and Women's Health, as well as several other specialties, for over 25 years. When the world shut down in 2020, I decided that I could no longer stay in my beloved medical field for many personal reasons. For the last four years, I have had many life changes and had no clue what I wanted to do with the remainder of my life, but fate intervened. I met another Doula while taking a scuba diving class, and the rest, is history. She encouraged my journey and my enthusiasm for all things women's health! I am a mother of six grown children, two biological and four bonus!
What led you to become a Doula?: I really wanted to figure out a way to bring my skills and my education to a real world profession without having to actually work in or for any medical establishment. I love women, I know women, so becoming a Doula felt like a very natural progression for me.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
I have been told that I’ve never met a stranger, I can and will talk to anyone. My friends tell me that I’m super dependable and always willing to help anyone who needs it. I have a positive outlook on life, no dooming out when I’m around!
