Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am a natural caretaker and have always been able to tune in and support where support is needed. I am, after all, a middle daughter. I have two children of my own, both of who's births were truly educational and amazing but not how I had envisioned them. My other passion is dance and I have over 20 years of teaching, performing and choreographic experience. This may not seem to translate into doula work, but I have found that my teaching and organization skills along with my creativity and understanding of the body has been helpful.

What led you to become a Doula?: I don't ever remember not being interested in childbirth. My mother says I attended my first home birth at 18 mo old, but the first one I remember was the birth of my sister when I was 4. After supporting a few and my little sister through childbirth as an adult, I decided that doula and childbirth education would be my next career.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

I have a really good feeling about this. My intuition is telling me that I can trust you and that we are a good match, and I’m feeling super grateful about getting connected with you now!
