Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I've recognized since early on my nature is to readily engage people. I resonate with people of widely ranging cultures, histories, and languages and maybe as a result, my degrees are in international relations and languages. Living curiously with no judgment in various countries has opened me to unique, effective ways of doing so many things that comprise human life — including how childbearing is understood and managed. I've provided support to countless individuals and families through pregnancy, labor, settling in "at home" with their newborns, and parenting infants and children in this country and others.

What led you to become a Doula?: My personal experiences in pregnancies, loss, joy, feeling overwhelmed and undersupported during pregnancies, labor, stillbirth, live births, and new parenting awoke in me a passion to provide service, a recognition that other individuals and families need my presence in sharing ancient wisdom and evidence-based options and support.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

As a child, people frequently said that I continually share verberating, positive presence, loving compassion, and my “wise soul.” People in my life regularly say I am thoughtful and deeply caring, quick-witted, empathetic, sensitive, nurturing, strong, a leader and mentor they trust, and unwaveringly passionate about people, our planet, and social justice.
