Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have a Bachelor of Science in Community Health and have worked as a Health Educator for the past 8 years. I have been providing active listening, evidence based health support and planning with women and families from crisis settings to home visiting settings. I spent the last 4 years specializing in infant care and Early Childhood Development and am so excited to be focusing on postpartum care!

What led you to become a Doula?: Ever since I was in college at Western Washington University I have been looking forward to this moment in time, when I can build a career doing doula work. Originally I was interested in becoming a midwife, but as I worked with women in crisis I realized that my skills are best used emotionally supporting families and helping care for their transition into a new era of life.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

My nanny and home visiting clients have spoken to my warmth, listening ear and non-biased support. I strive to be a friend, listening ear, and planning expert for my clients. Ive been told I create a relaxed space where co-regulation can happen.
