ARE YOU READY FOR WORLD DOULA WEEK?
( March 22nd-28th, 2024 )

World Doula Week is an excellent opportunity for you as a doula to celebrate and raise awareness around your profession! But where does one start?

✔️ Make a Video Telling Your Story
Share your personal journey of why you became a doula. Post this video on your social media and website to connect with your audience on a deeper level.

✔️ Write a Blog About What Doulas Do
Educate your following on the benefits of having a doula and how doulas support families before, during, and after birth. Share this blog post on your website and social media platforms.

✔️ Contact Clients for Testimonials
Reach out to previous clients and ask for reviews about their experience with you as their doula. Sharing testimonials can help create awareness around the positive impact doulas have.

✔️ Call or Write a Thank You Note to a Fellow Doula
Personal connections within the doula community are invaluable, and nurturing these relationships can strengthen the profession as a whole.

PRODOULAS MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

March 21st is Down Syndrome Day. The date, 3/21, is significant because it represents the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down Syndrome.

Haley Jamin of Uptown Doula, is making a difference in her community by volunteering with First Call Parent Mentor Program for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte.

This program is all about offering support and guidance to families who are navigating the journey of Down syndrome, especially during pregnancy and birth.

Every pregnancy and diagnosis is unique. This program matches parents like Haley, who received a prenatal diagnosis, with families going through a similar experience.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT PRODOULA

“Mari Leckel (pictured left) created a very nurturing space where we felt comfortable asking all kinds of questions and produced really fruitful conversation. Much of the weekend’s lectures were led by our questions and what mattered to us so there was certainly enough time to address everything that was specifically important to each of us.”

WHAT WE ARE WATCHING

WHAT WE ARE LISTENING TO

Doulas of the Roundtable Podcast Episode 12:
What We Are Taught: Why It Matters

What a doula is taught shapes the way they move through the birth world and interact with other professionals in the field.

For example, some doulas are taught not to interact with providers and to be more of a ‘fly on the wall’. Other doulas are taught to build collaborative relationships with providers to best support their clients.

Join Angela, Eva and special guest ProDoula CEO Randy Patterson, as they dive into what doulas have historically been taught and why it matters.
