We are certain that doulas can provide superior support when they have the skills to better understand their clients’ background and history, and how it impacts the birth and postpartum period. We believe this resource will assist you in becoming more culturally aware and connected to your community in its entirety.

100% of ALL funds contributed to the purchase of this resource will go to the National Healthy Start Association (NHSA) which is a US-based non-profit whose mission is to improve birth outcomes and reduce health disparities for communities of color.

NHSA provides support to over 100 community-based Healthy Start programs that address perinatal health, inter-conceptional healthcare, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and family violence. Our donation will help NHSA fund infant mortality awareness campaigns, train leaders in the field, improve services for vulnerable communities and provide resources to families.
