Meet Your Doula Trainer

Interests include being active in my kiddos activities including soccer, volleyball and the
saxophone. I enjoy the outdoors; Fishing and hiking. I also love cuddling up under a fluffy
blanket, turning on a true crime show and crocheting.

Goals as a trainer:
My goal is to empower aspiring Postpartum & Infant Care Doulas to thrive in their roles,
equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to provide exceptional care to families. I
am dedicated to fostering a supportive community where new doulas can not only make a
positive impact on postpartum experiences but also build sustainable businesses that enrich their
own lives and those of the families they serve.

A little about Shannon:
Shannon Barnett is an Elite Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula and Elite Birth Doula
whose mission is to positively impact the postpartum experience for families at one of life’s
most transformative moments. Her passion for this work grew from her own journey through
postpartum depression and anxiety, a time when she struggled to find the support she needed.
Determined that no family should navigate the postpartum period without help, Shannon
became Omaha’s first certified postpartum doula in 2015, devoting herself to ensuring families
have the compassionate care and guidance they deserve.
Over nearly a decade, Shannon has supported families through the emotional ups and downs of
postpartum recovery, sleep deprivation, infant care, and the journey of rediscovering oneself
after birth. Known for her calm, empathetic presence, she has become a trusted figure in the
Omaha community, offering families a safe space to seek support, practical advice, and
reassurance.

Shannon’s commitment to improving postpartum outcomes extends beyond her direct work
with families. Recognizing that meaningful change requires a larger community of skilled
doulas, she became an educator with ProDoula, inspired to empower others to make a positive
impact on the lives of new parents. Shannon knows that the need for skilled, compassionate
doulas is growing and that a thriving community of doulas can make a difference on a larger
scale. She is dedicated to guiding new doulas not only in providing excellent care to families but
also in building sustainable, successful businesses that support their own families.
In her role as a trainer, Shannon combines her hands-on experience and her passion for
meaningful postpartum support to help new doulas enter this work with confidence, empathy,
and a path to professional success.

At home, Shannon enjoys life with her husband, their two daughters, and their beloved pets,
Pickles the cat and Jinx the dog.
